Apologies for the March hiatus ! We are slowly but surely testing out a freelance lifestyle, so thanks for sticking with us if you’re reading! To make up for our lag, I thought we’d do a mash up of WHO TO FOLLOW for April, along with a shop guide that correlates. We also launched our YouTube channel and so we’ll be incorporating a video in this month’s write up as well! APRIL BROUGHT US SO MUCH FRESH AIR<3
We post a lot about #selfcaresunday on our IG account and we wrote a bit about some of our fav skincare products but recently— another one of life’s detours— since I’ve moved to the valley, I’m a bit unfamiliar w the area and can’t seem to find a specific firming and tightening St. Tropez self tanner I normally swear by, we have been forced to broaden our horizons. I visited the Sephora in the Topanga mall (probably 3 minutes after they had opened so please take this bias into account when trying at your local) only to be pleasantly surprised by the fact that when you spend over $75 in product, you automatically qualify for the next available hydrafacial. I do believe you have to be a beauty insider at the very least, I know I am a rouge but this is just the coolest thing for anyone who does not have access to a dermatologist or does not regularity visit the spa. I get a hydrafacial once every 8 weeks followed by some sort of enzyme peel and this was the biggest game changer for me once my skin started to change with age. I had been very fortunate to have grown up with mostly clear skin, however having aged along with unhealthy habits (backwoods *wink wink*) my skin began to require a bit more attention. It is also suggested you change up your skin routine once every so often, I had no clue of this and had been using purely dove soap since I could remember, as most of us latinas do (; My wonderful friends were able to refer me to their stellar dermatologist who got me on a new regimen that included the facials and peels and I have been very happy with my skin since then! But not everyone has access or is able to do this so I have to write about this great little facial. We spend $75 at Sephora usually just by breathing the air at the store anyway so if you have the time, everyone must take advantage of this little gem.
Some of the products that were featured in my facial that I was educated on (and fell in love with, obviously) are detailed below:
AMOREPACIFIC The Essential Creme Fluid - $98
I mean I was obsessed. It’s pretty much applicable for all skin types, but Sephora’s site says it’s helpful for:
“- Dryness
- Uneven skin tone
- Loss of firmness and elasticity”
KORRES Wild Rose 15% Vitamin C Spotless Serum - $75
Again, just obsessed. I usually don’t like rose in my facial products just by preference but the scent and overall essence is very neutral which I love. Sephora says this is for “dark spots, dullness, and skin discolorations for spotlessly luminous skin”. Into it.
AMOREPACIFIC Resort Collection Sun Protection Mist Broad Spectrum SPF 30 Sunscreen - $32
I just enjoy the concept of not touching my face while applying sunscreen throughout my day. Especially as someone who is on the go 24/7, this was a gorgeous find. SPF 30 and only as light as you could expect from the Korean beauty fav<3 This is great to “reduce redness—leaving you with more nourished and radiant skin”, per Sephora’s site. I felt that.
TAN-LUXE The Butter Illuminating Tanning Butter - $36
So this was what I ended up with unable to find my usual St Tropez Firming go-to, and I am sorry to say I will never look back. This lotion is EVERYTHING<3~*~** the coloring, the effectiveness, application process, and scent (/ lack of the usual cat-piss-esque smell usually tied to self tanners) are all 10/10, would bang.
Whist on the topic of skincare, our Who To Follow for April is none other than my very good friend: @whatiworeon Tali, whose closet this account is tied to, has an adorable personality that truly shines through in her clothing via @whatiworeon
Her feed details Tali’s daily outfits but also features what she wore on her SKIN ! So with the launch of BEARSHOP’s YouTube channel, please enjoy this small tutorial featuring our Cosmic Facial Roller for Self Care Sunday :) All of the products Tali mentioned are listed in the discription on Youtube and I'm sure are also referenced on her IG<3
